In order to reduce the number of unwanted "spam" messages I have made some changes to the forum for newly registered users.

When you register you will be asked to reply yes to an easy question, which is designed to stop automated spam, such as:
"Is Edinburgh the capital of Scotland?" or "Did Murray win the US Open in 2012?" or "In which loch will you find the Loch Ness monster" and if Hogmanay is the answer to "what do the Scots call New Years Eve".

The first few posts made by newly registered users will receive this notice:
"This message has been submitted successfully, but it will need to be approved by a moderator before it is publicly viewable. You will be notified when your post has been approved."

Please be patient as it may take a few days before a moderator can read and approve your message. Newly registered users will receive an email when their first posts are approved and available for viewing.

If anyone has any problems, please post to the forum so that a moderator can read and reply.

If you wish to discuss this announcement, please do so in the "General Discussion" forum.

Cheers
Tom
